Add a creative comment to this post, and I’ll send you an invitation to 12seconds.tv, currently in private alpha. I haven’t looked to see if they’re eBay’ing them like they did with Gmail invites back in the day.

12seconds is a video status platform. This is the place to record and share brief moments from your life, whether you’re buying shoes, at a concert, or hanging out in your pajamas. Use a webcam or a cell phone to record videos up to 12 seconds long and share them with friends. That’s it. Why 12seconds? Because anything longer is boring. [via]

1st 10 creative commenters get a 12seconds.tv invite — I’m sole determinator of what counts as creative. All decisions final. Invites expire in 30 days. If you don’t make the creativity cut, or I run out of invites, you can request your own from the 12seconds people.

cf. compare and contrast with seesmic.com and hellodeo.com; ReadWriteWeb had 500 invites, Shoemoney had 100 invites, Mashable had 35 invites, I only had 10. Only 8 people tried the RWW challenge to say ReadWriteWeb 5x fast.

    DJ, I think I should get an invite. Because you know, I have a baby daughter and 12 seconds is about the length of her attention span, and so this would be perfect for me.

    12 seconds of fame doesn't quite compare to 15 minutes of fame, but it's better than nothing.
