2nd Asian American Emergents Skypecast
The 2nd Asian American Emergents Skypecast will happen on Sunday night, August 27th, at 9:00pm Eastern / 8:00pm Central / 6:00pm Pacific. Please join us for some cordial conversations, even if you’re in Mountain time or in Malaysia. (Skype me if you run into tech issues.)
These 3 questions and 1 article will be our conversation starter:
- How does the emergent conversation impact the issues of the Asian American Church?
- What is Emergent missing by not having many visible Asian American participants?
- What does “a royal priesthood of all believers” really mean in an AA church?

hello dj – sorry to be a stone-age internet user, but how does a skypecast work? i’d like to participate, but i’m not 100% sure what it is
do i need to sign up on the skype site? is it like an online chat or more like talking over the telephone? thanks!!

Skype is a free software that you can download at http://www.skype.com (PC, Mac, Linux) that enables you to make voice (and video) calls over the Internet. Yes, you’ll need to sign up after you get the software installed, and you’ll need a broadband Internet connection. A Skypecast is similar to talking on a conference call.
(We did play with the idea of setting up a dial-in conference call for this monthly event, but we’re more attracted to the free cost of doing a skypecast for now.)

This sounds great. However, since it’ll be work time in Bangkok, I’ll try to get on and listen, if I don’t have something else lined for that time. If I can contribute, I’ll try to bring some Asian-Canadian perspectives to the table
