weekend jaunt to NYC
took a weekend jaunt to New York City, this time a round trip drive.. about 5 hours each way, including traffic.. it was a nice fun family time, and we got quite the Priceline deal to stay at the midtown Hilton. the real treat was getting to attend Redeemer Presbyterian Church, where Tim Keller masterfully taught from the Psalm about spiritual disipline and grace. His message hit so many poignant points, one of which is the shallow (and albeit prevalent) cliche of Romans 8:28, “All things work together for the good of those who love God.” This verse does NOT mean every thing is good when something happens, especially bad things to good people; nor is this verse saying that when bad things happen that there’s something good hidden behind it, as if it were some blessing in disguise. Cliche. Simplistic. Wrong. The promise of this verse is that when all of life’s events is taken together, all of it has worked towards producing something good and beautiful and joyful in those of us who love God.
StrokeIt
StrokeIt – Mouse Gestures And More
This is a stroke of genius (pun intended); free [to individuals and non-profits] software that recognizes mouse gestures: right-click-and-drag graffiti stroke to do commands, like open new browser window, close window.. no more moving cursor allllll the way to upper left or right to make something happen
thanks MC!
